From Monday 5 April, the recycling, rubbish and food waste collection is changing.
The service will include:

  • For most households, weekly food waste collections will be collected on the same day as recycling or rubbish, but at a different time in a different vehicle. Currently everything is collected separately, but in the same vehicle.
  • Some changes to collection days, or recycling and rubbish collection days being swapped over. If your collections are affected, we will also write to you before 5 April.

Bank holiday collections

Easter bank holiday collections

Recycling and rubbish collections due to take place on Friday 2 April will be collected on Saturday 3 April. Collections due to take place in the week beginning Monday 5 April, will not be collected a day later.

Other bank holiday collections

From 5 April, recycling and rubbish collections will not change following bank holidays, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Garden waste collections

If you are a member of the Green Waste Club and your garden waste collection falls on Friday 2 April, it will be collected on Saturday 3 April. Collections due to take place in the week beginning Monday 5 April, will be collected on your usual day.


From 5 April, garden waste collections will not change following bank holidays except over Christmas when the service is suspended for two weeks.
